Tobias Adrian is the Financial Counsellor and Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). In this capacity, he leads the IMF’s work on financial sector surveillance, monetary and macroprudential policies, financial regulation, debt management, and capital markets. He also oversees capacity building activities in IMF member countries, particularly with regard to the supervision and regulation of financial systems, central banking, monetary and exchange rate regimes, and asset and liability management.

Prior to joining the IMF, Mr. Adrian was a Senior Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Associate Director of the Research and Statistics Group. At the Federal Reserve, he contributed to monetary policy, financial stability policies, and crisis management.

Mr. Adrian taught at Princeton University and New York University and has published extensively in economics and finance journals, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Financial Studies. His research spans asset pricing, financial institutions, monetary policy, and financial stability, with a focus on aggregate consequences of capital markets developments.

Mr. Adrian holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MSc from the London School of Economics, a Diplom from Goethe University Frankfurt, and a Maîtrise from Dauphine University Paris. He received his Abitur in Literature and Mathematics from Humboldtschule Bad Homburg.

Alfred Schipke is Professor of the Practice of International Finance at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and the Director of the East Asian Institute (EAI) at the National University of Singapore. His research focuses on macroeconomic and financial sector issues, with a special emphasis on China and India. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the National School of Development, Peking University, and regularly teaches international finance at the Harvard Kennedy School. Professor Schipke has authored and co-edited several books and articles, including Africa-China Economic Partnership, India's Financial System: Building the Foundation for Strong and Sustainable Growth, The Future of China's Bond Market, and Modernizing China: Investing in Soft Infrastructure. Before assuming his current roles at the National University of Singapore, he served as the Director of the IMF–Singapore Regional Training Institute for Asia and the Pacific held senior positions at the IMF including Assistant Director and Mission Chief for India and Senior Resident Representative and Mission Chief for China. In these roles, he provided strategic policy advice, conducted research, and fostered capacity development. At the IMF, he was also Division Chief in the Asia and Pacific Department, where he led work on fast-growing low-income countries in Southeast Asia (Frontier Economies) and served as Mission Chief for Vietnam. Additionally, in the IMF's Western Hemisphere Department, he successfully negotiated several IMF programs, including those for El Salvador and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Edmond Alphandéry is the founder and Chairman of the Euro50 Group which gathers leading European personalities concerned with monetary policy of the European Central Bank since the creation of the euro. He launched in 2019 the "Task Force on Carbon Pricing in Europe", a group of personalities coming from various countries of the European Union to promote carbon pricing in Europe to fight climate change.

Edmond Alphandéry is Member of the Advisory Committee of Quadrille Capital. From 1993 to 1995 he worked as a Minister of the Economy of France. From 1998 to 2012, he served as Chairman of CNP Assurances, and prior to this appointment, he was Chairman of Electricité de France (EDF). From 2010 to May 2019, he was a Board member of ENGIE and the President of its Strategic Committee.

Edmond Alphandéry graduated from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, and after studying at the University of Chicago and the University of California, Berkeley, he obtained his French Ph.D. in Economics and his "Agrégation" in Political Economy. He is the author of numerous articles and books devoted to economic and monetary affairs.

Ms. Amaya is Executive Advisor at Norinchukin Research Institute Co., Ltd. Since November 2023. She also serves as Audit and Supervisory Committee Member at East Japan Railway Company and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. She is the previous Vice Minister for International Affairs at Japan's Financial Services Agency (JFSA) (2021-2023).

Ms. Amaya has broad experience in financial supervision and international financial regulations. Her career at JFSA includes Vice Commissioner for International Affairs(2019-2021), Deputy Secretary-General of Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) (2017-2019), Secretary General of Certified Public Accountants and Auditing Oversight Board (CPAAOB) (2015-2017). Director for Market and Risk (2008-2010) and Director for International Insurance Services (2002-2006). From 2013 to 2015, Ms. Amaya served as Senior Executive Director at Deposit Insurance Corporation. She was also Visiting Professor at Graduate School of Public Policy, the University of Tokyo in 2011-2013.

Ms. Amaya earned B.A. in Law at the University of Tokyo. She also finished Mid-Career Associate Program, IR/PS at the University of California, San Diego.

A pharmacist turned veteran banker, Mr. Pipit Aneaknithi was appointed as KASIKORNBANK's president in January 2017. Prior to this, he headed the World Business Division where he steered the bank's regional expansion, including establishing new banks in China and Laos, and laid a solid foundation for KASIKORNBANK to become a regional bank in AEC+3 countries, a timely move to support deepening trade and investment in the region.

With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Pipit accumulated broad experience covering capital markets, project financing, credit & risk management as well as corporate, SME and retail banking. Joining KASIKORNBANK in the middle of Asian Financial Crisis in 1990s, Mr. Pipit has played an instrumental role in a series of bank's post-crisis organization transformations. He has spearheaded innovative new business models to both corporate and retail segments, brought in strategic measures to reinvent the bank and achieved sustainable business growth. Currently, he is in the forefront of the re-formation of bank-wide digital strategy, building organizational and talent readiness, gearing up to stay ahead in the digital economy.

Mr. Pipit received his MBA from FH Pforzheim in Germany and University of Brighton in United Kingdom.

Anna Bjerde is the World Bank's Managing Director of Operations, overseeing projects in 130+ countries focused on poverty reduction, equitable growth, human development, and climate change, among other key priorities. Prior to this, she served as Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, leading the institution's efforts to steer the region through a series of overlapping global shocks, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the World Bank's support to Ukraine. An experienced leader with recognized expertise in sustainable infrastructure, she has a strong record of delivering impactful programs across sectors and regions, including Africa and the Middle East.

Mr. Luiz Awazu Pereira da Silva has been Deputy General Manager at the Bank for International Settlements from 1 October 2015 till 31 August 2023. Before joining the BIS, Mr. Luiz Awazu Pereira da Silva, a Brazilian national, had been Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil since 2010. Prior to that, he worked in various positions for the World Bank in Washington DC, Tokyo and southern Africa. He also served as Chief Economist for the Brazilian Ministry of Budget and Planning, and as Brazil's Deputy Finance Minister in charge of international affairs.

He holds a doctorate in economics and MPhil from Panthéon-Sorbonne University, and graduated from the École des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) Paris and the Institut d'Études Politiques (Sciences Po) in Paris.

Ashley Bacon is the Chief Risk Officer of JPMorganChase & Co. and a member of the firm's Operating Committee. He is responsible for the Risk Management and Compliance organization across the Commercial & Investment Bank, Consumer & Community Banking, Asset & Wealth Management and the firm's corporate activities. Bacon reports to Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon and the Risk Committee of the Board.

Bacon provides oversight of the firm's spectrum of risk-taking activities encompassing economic risks including credit, market, liquidity, principal, capital and country, as well as other core risks including operational, model, compliance, conduct, legal, capital and reputation risk, with controls and governance established for each area as appropriate.

He joined the Risk organization in 2006. Over the course of his career with the firm, he also worked in the firm's Tokyo, Singapore and London offices in a variety of trading roles in bonds, swaps, financing, options and exotics within Rate Markets, including leading those regional businesses for the firm.

Before joining J.P. Morgan in 1993, he traded international government bonds for Daiwa Securities.

Bacon holds a degree in Monetary Economics from the London School of Economics.

Mr. Barnett has become the International Monetary Fund's Senior Resident Representative in China since February 2020. Prior to that, he worked as an Advisor to the Deputy Managing Director. For much of his career, however, he covered Asia. His positions included Chief of the China Division in the IMF's Asia and Pacific Department, Assistant Director at the IMF Office for Asia and the Pacific in Tokyo, Resident Representative to China, and Resident Representative to Thailand. Prior to joining the IMF in 1997, he earned his PhD in economics from the University of Maryland. He has a Bachelor's degree in economics from Stanford University as well as a Master's degree in Russian and East European Studies, also from Stanford.

Ambassador Charlene Barshefsky is Chair of Parkside Global Advisors in Washington, DC, having previously served as Senior International Partner at WilmerHale where she chaired the firm's International Trade, Investment and Market Access Group. She advises multinational companies on their global market access, investment and negotiating strategies. Ambassador Barshefsky joined WilmerHale after serving in President Clinton's Cabinet as the U.S. Trade Representative from 1997 to 2001, and acting and deputy USTR from 1993 to 1996. As the USTR, Barshefsky formulated U.S. trade policy and negotiated hundreds of complex trade and investment agreements that opened markets, removed regulatory barriers and cemented protections for U.S. investment worldwide.

Among her historic agreements, Barshefsky was the architect and negotiator of China's WTO agreement, opening China's economy as a worldwide market. She negotiated landmark global market opening agreements in financial services, telecommunications, technology products, and cyberspace. Agreements with strong foreign policy elements included her trade agreement with Vietnam, which paved the way for normalization of relations, and a Free Trade Agreement with Jordan, the first ever with an Arab state.

Barshefsky, the recipient of a number of honorary degrees and professional accolades, serves on the boards of the Estee Lauder Companies, and Stagwell Global, and previously served on the Boards of Intel Corporation, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, and the American Express Company. She is a Trustee of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and Chair of the National Committee on US China Relations.

C. Fred Bergsten is nonresident senior fellow and director emeritus at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, of which he was founding director from its creation in 1981 through 2012.

He was economic deputy to Dr. Henry Kissinger at the National Security Council, Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury for International Affairs, Chairman of APEC's Eminent Persons Group and of the Competitiveness Policy Council chartered by the US Congress, and a member of the President's Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations for 10 years.

Bergsten was the most widely quoted think-tank economist in the world and was called "one of the ten people who can change your life" by USA Today. He is the author, coauthor, or editor of 46 books.

Bi Jingquan, Chairman of the China Centre for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE),Member of the Standing Committee of the 14th CPPCC National Committee,Vice chairman of the CPPCC Committee on Economic Affairs. Before joining CCIEE, he served successively as deputy director-general, director-general, secretary-general, and vice chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, deputy secretary-general of the State Council and member of the Leading Party Members Group of the State Council General Office,commissioner and secretary of the Leading Party Members Group of the former State Food and Drug Administration, and secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and deputy commissioner of the State Administration for Market Regulation.

He was delegate to the 18th and 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), member of the 19th CPC Central Committee, member of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, and vice chairman of the CPPCC Committee on Economic Affairs.

Dr. Cai Fang is the Chairman of CF40 Academic Committee, academician and chief expert of National Think Tank at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). He is the President of the China Association of Labor Economics. His research focuses on various aspects of China's economy, including economic reform and development, population and labor economics, economic growth, income distribution, and poverty reduction. He has published extensively on these topics. Among his recent publications are "The Era of Population Decline" (CITIC Press, 2023), "China's Economic Development: Implications for the World" (Taylor & Francis, 2023), and "China's Economic Growth Prospects - From Demographic Dividend to Reform Dividend" (Edward Elgar, 2016).

Mrs Laura M. Cha is Senior Advisor to the Board of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd ("HKEX"), where she served as Chairman from April 2018 to April 2024. She is also Chairman of HKEX's International Advisory Council and Mainland China Advisory Group.

Mrs Cha currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Ant Group Co. Ltd. and is a member of the Hong Kong-United States Business Council. She is a director of the board of the Bretton Woods Committee, a trustee of the Rockefeller Foundation, and a member of Sotheby's International Advisory Board. In addition, she is Vice Chairman of the International Advisory Council of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, a member of the Global Leadership Council of Oxford University's Said Business School, a director of the Yale Asia Development Council, and an advisory council member of the Yale Beijing Centre.

Mrs Cha became the first, and to-date, the only person outside Mainland China to join the Central Government of the People's Republic of China at the vice-ministerial rank when she was appointed as Vice Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission ("CSRC") in January 2001. She served in that position until 2004. Prior to that, Mrs Cha practiced law in the US and in Hong Kong. She worked her way through the ranks at the Securities and Futures Commission ("SFC") in Hong Kong from 1991 to 2000, becoming its Deputy Chairman in 1998.

During her tenure as a regulator in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, Mrs Cha was a strong proponent of good corporate governance practice. At the CSRC she introduced the requirement of independent directors on the board of listed companies, and the requirement of qualifying examination for sponsors of IPO's (2001 to 2004) on the domestic Chinese exchanges. At the SFC, she led the effort to bring Chinese state-owned enterprises to list on the stock exchange of Hong Kong (1993), and the demutualization of the stock and future exchanges, with the merged entity becoming a listed company which is known today as Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd (2000).

Mrs Cha has been active in public service in Hong Kong over the last 30 years, having been the longest-serving member of the Executive Council of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) from 2004 to 2022. She was Chairman of the Financial Services Development Council from 2013 to 2018, and Chairman of the University Grants Committee from 2007 to 2012.

In the last 20 years, Mrs Cha has also served as director on the boards of HSBC Holdings plc, Unilever plc, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, Johnson Electrics Ltd., and China Telecom Ltd., and as an international advisor to Foundation Assets Management AB in Sweden.

Mrs. Cha received her BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her JD from Santa Clara University in the US. She was awarded a Silver Bauhinia Star in 2001, a Gold Bauhinia Star in 2009 and a Grand Bauhinia Medal in 2017 by the Hong Kong Government in recognition of her public service.

Rita Chan is Co-Senior Country Officer (Co-SCO) for China and Head of Consumer & Retail, Asia Pacific Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan. She is a member of the Asia Pacific Management Committee and co-chairs the China Operating Committee.

As Co-SCO for China, Rita is responsible for driving the firm's overall agenda across the China franchise, and helping to bring J.P. Morgan's global network and resources to this critical market.

Rita joined the firm in 2020 as Head of Real Estate for Asia Pacific Investment Banking and later assumed responsibilities for Asia Pacific Consumer and Retail coverage. She has more than 20 years of industry experience, having led a number of benchmark transactions for large issuers across Asia Pacific, with a particular focus on marketing Chinese issuers to the global market.

Prior to J.P. Morgan, Rita was Co-Head of Asia ex-Japan Real Estate Investment Banking and Co-Head of Asia ex-Japan Debt Capital Markets at Goldman Sachs, where she was also a member of the Investment Banking Division Operating Committee and the Asia Capital Committee.

Rita holds a Master's degree in Social Sciences from University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Economics, East Asian Languages and Civilizations. She is also a published author.

Mr Chan is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a former President of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Before joining the Government, Mr Chan held a number of public service positions including member of the Legislative Council and Chairman of Legal Aid Services Council. Mr Chan served as Secretary for Development from July 2012 to January 2017. He has been Financial Secretary since 2017.

Mr. Chen Wenhui is a CF40 Advisor and President of the Northern Finance Institute (NFI). Previously he served as the Vice Chairman of the National Council for Social Security Fund of China (NCSSF), Vice Chairman of the former China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, and Vice Chairman of the former China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC).

Mr. Chen received his Ph.D. in Economics from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and studied public administration at Harvard Kennedy School. He has published extensively on economic theory, social security, finance, insurance, and investment.

Dr. Du Yang is a professor and director of Institute of Population and Labor Economics, and director of Research Center for Human Resources, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Main research fields are labor market on China, economic growth, population economics, poverty and development.

Dr. Du Yang published a host of papers on both domestic and international journals and several books on the Chinese labor market. He is principal investigator for some influential research projects. His is also the editor of Chinese Journal of Population Sciences and Journal of China Labor Economics. He is chief of academic committee of Institute of Population and Labor Economics. He has been invited as consultant for international organizations, including the World Bank, ADB, ILO, UNDP, and OECD.

He got his Ph D. in economics from Zhejiang University in 1999.

Barry Eichengreen is George C. Pardee & Helen N. Pardee Chair and Distinguished Professor of Economics and Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has taught since 1987. He is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research (Cambridge, Massachusetts) and Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (London, England).

In 1997-98 he was Senior Policy Advisor at the International Monetary Fund. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (class of 1997). Professor Eichengreen is the convener of the Bellagio Group of academics and economic officials and chair of the Academic Advisory Committee of the Peterson Institute of International Economics. He has held Guggenheim and Fulbright Fellowships and has been a fellow of the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences (Palo Alto) and the Institute for Advanced Study (Berlin).

Dr. Fang Xinghai is a CF40 Advisor and Former Vice Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). Before joining the CSRC, he was a Bureau Director at the Office of the Central Leading Group for Financial and Economic Affairs. Prior to that, he successively served as Director-General of Shanghai Municipal Financial Services Office, and Assistant President and Vice President of Shanghai Stock Exchange. Earlier in his career, he worked as Director of Group Coordination Office at China Construction Bank and Secretary-General of Management Committee of China Galaxy Securities.

Dr. Jacob A. Frenkel is Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Trustees of the Group of Thirty (G-30) and Chairman of the Frenkel-Zukerman Institute for Global Economics. He was Chairman of JPMorgan International (2009-2020), Vice Chairman of AIG (2004-9), Chairman of Merrill Lynch International (2000-2004), Governor of the Bank of Israel (two-terms, 1991-2000), Economic Counselor and Director of Research, IMF (1987-1991), and the David Rockefeller Professor of International Economics at the University of Chicago (1973-1987). He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Distinguished Fellow of the CEPR, a Global Member of the Trilateral Commission, a member of the Board of Directors of the National Bureau of Economic Research, and of the Peterson Institute for International Economics. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (1995-1996), and as Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (1999-2000).

Dr. Frenkel received several honorary degrees and is a Laureate of the 2002 Israel Prize in Economics.

Jason Furman is the Aetna Professor of the Practice of Economic Policy jointly at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) and the Department of Economics at Harvard University. Furman engages in public policy through research, writing and teaching in a wide range of areas including U.S. and international macroeconomics, fiscal policy, labor markets and competition policy.

Previously Furman served eight years as a top economic adviser to President Obama, including serving as the 28th Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers from August 2013 to January 2017, acting as both President Obama's chief economist and a member of the cabinet.

In addition to articles in scholarly journals and periodicals, Furman is a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal and Project Syndicate and the editor of two books on economic policy.

Furman holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.

Dr Gao Shanwen is Chief Economist of SDIC Securities (formerly Essence Securities), a position he has held since 2007. During this tenure, he concurrently held positions as a Director at Sunshine Insurance and China Pacific Insurance Group. He had work experience at the People's Bank of China and Everbright Securities. He is a founding member and academic committee member of CF40, as well as an industry supervisor at the PBC School of Finance at Tsinghua University. In 2023, he was elected as the President of the Union of Finance Alumni of Peking University. His areas of expertise lie in the analysis of macro economy and capital market, with a profound understanding of inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and asset prices.

Dr. Gao received his B.S. degree and M.A. degree in Economics from Peking University, and Doctorate's Degree in Economics from the PBC School of Finance at Tsinghua University (formerly the Graduate School of People's Bank of China) .

GAO Yun, Secretary of the Shanghai Huangpu District Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) . Mr. Gao Yun started his career in July 1989. Previously a researcher, Mr. Gao has obtained both Master's degree and Doctor's degree. Prior to his career in Huangpu District, he used to be the Director of the Economic Committee and Deputy Director of Xuhui District of Shanghai, Deputy Director of the Economic Committee of Shanghai, Deputy Director of the Economic and Information Committee of Shanghai, Standing Committee Member of the Changning District Committee of Shanghai, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Jiading District Committee of CPC, and Governor of the Jiading District of Shanghai.

Mr. Gaspar is Director of the Fiscal Affairs Department at the IMF. He joined in 2014. Before that, he was Portuguese Minister of State and Finance from 2011–13 and has held various positions in European and Portuguese institutions, including head of BEPA at the European Commission, director-general of research at the European Central Bank, director of Economic Studies and Statistics at the Central Bank of Portugal, and Director of Economic Studies at the Portuguese Ministry of Finance.

Mr. Gaspar holds a Ph.D. and a post-doctoral agregado in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa; he graduated from Universidade Católica Portuguesa.

Anabel González, a dual citizen of Costa Rica and USA, was appointed Vice President for Countries starting September 1, 2023.

Ms. González has worked in the field of economic development for over 30 years, focusing on trade, investment, competitiveness, and the role of the private sector. Her experience spans international organizations, the public sector, consulting, and research.

Prior to joining the IDB, she served as Deputy Director-General at the World Trade Organization (WTO) from June 2021 until August 2023. During this time, she facilitated trade negotiations among WTO members, including on trade-related aspects of the pandemic.

She also oversaw the divisions of economic research, market access, services trade and investment, and intellectual property. Ms. González fostered an expanded knowledge agenda in collaboration with other international organizations, managed the relationship with Latin America and the Caribbean, and supported the strategic positioning of the WTO including through her blog "Trade Thoughts".  Earlier in her career, she worked as Director of the Agricultural Division at the WTO (2006-2009).

Previously, she was Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington DC (2018-2021), where she conducted research and published on trade policy and economic integration and launched the "Trade Winds" virtual series. Simultaneously, she served as Senior Advisor to the Global Advantage and Social Impact practices at the Boston Consulting Group, assisting clients across the public and private sector.

Ms. González's professional trajectory includes serving as Senior Director of the World Bank's Global Practice on Trade & Competitiveness (2014-2017). In this role, she led a large team to provide global thought leadership and comprehensive solutions to governments worldwide to expand market opportunities, boost private initiative and foster dynamic economies. She also served as Senior Consultant on Trade and Investment at the IDB between 2009-2010.

Ms. González has extensive public sector experience in the government of Costa Rica. As Minister of Trade in 2010-2014, she played a key role in the country´s pursuit to join the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), negotiated major free trade agreements and contributed to attracting numerous investment projects. She also served as president of PROCOMER (export promotion board). Previously, Ms. González served as Special Ambassador and Chief Negotiator (2002-2004), Vice-Minister (1998-2001), and Director General for Trade Negotiations (1991-1997). Additionally, she worked as Director-General of CINDE, a non-profit investment promotion agency, between (2001-2002).

Ms. González has written extensively on trade, investment and economic development, and has presented in over 70 countries across the world. She has also been associated with the World Economic Forum, the T20 Trade, Investment and Growth Task Force, and the Friends of the Multilateralism Group, among others. She holds a Master's degree in Law from Georgetown University, and a Law degree from the University of Costa Rica.

Daniel Gros is Professor of Practice at Bocconi University and Director of the Institute for European Policymaking at Bocconi University.

Between 2020 and 2022 he was Distinguished Fellow and Member of the Board of the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS). Before that, was the director of CEPS since 2000. In 2020, he held a Fulbright fellowship and was a visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley. In March-June, 2022 he was visiting Research Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre of the European University Institute, Florence.

Gros is also currently an adviser to the European Parliament. Previously he worked at the International Monetary Fund and collaborated with the European Commission as economic adviser to the Delors Committee, which developed plans for the euro. He has been a member of high-level advisory bodies to the French and Belgian governments and advised numerous central banks and governments, including Greece, the United Kingdom, and the United States at the highest political level.

He has published extensively on international economic affairs, including on monetary and fiscal policy, exchange rates, banking, and climate change. He is the author of several books and editor of Economie Internationale and International Finance. He has taught at several leading European universities and contributes a globally syndicated column on European economic issues to Project Syndicate. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago.

Guo Kai is Executive President and Senior Fellow of CF40 Institute. Before joining CF40 Institute, Dr. Guo was an economist at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC and then worked at the People's Bank of China in various capacities, including in the Monetary Policy Department and the International Department. His main research areas include the Chinese economy and its macroeconomic policies as well as international finance. Dr. Guo is the author of three popular Chinese economics books and multiple academic papers in various English and Chinese journals.

Dr. Guo holds a Ph.D. degree in economics from Harvard University.

Mr. Kuroda was Governor of the Bank of Japan from March 2013 to April 2023. Prior to his position at the BOJ, Mr. Kuroda served as President of the Asian Development Bank from 2005 to 2013. He was also Special Adviser to the Cabinet of Prime Minister Koizumi, while he was Professor at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo from 2003 to 2005. During his career at Japan's Ministry of Finance from 1967 to 2003, Mr. Kuroda's responsibilities encompassed fields including international finance and tax policies. From 1999 to 2003, he represented the Ministry as Vice Minister of Finance for International Affairs at numerous international monetary conferences such as the G7 and G20 meetings. He has assumed professor and senior fellow of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) after retiring from the BOJ and was visiting professor of the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University from January to May 2024. He also serves as distinguished professor of the Graduate School of Management, Kyoto University.

Mr. Kuroda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law from The University of Tokyo, and a Master of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Oxford.

Mr. He Jianxiong is CF40 Advisor and Former Executive Director for China at the IMF, holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree from the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in China. Since his graduation in 1979, he taught there for a decade.

Mr. He worked in the International Department of the People's Bank of China from 1991 to 2014. During this period, he held a few positions at the IMF, including Advisor to Executive Director, Alternate Executive Director and Executive Director for China. In 2011, he was appointed Director-General of the International Department of the People's Bank of China and four years later, a Counselor to the People's Bank of China. In the same year, he was named as an Executive Director of Buttonwood Investment Holding Company Ltd and a board member of CNIC Corporation Limited.

Mr. He has long been engaged widely in bilateral, regional and global economic and financial cooperation at institutions and mechanisms including the IMF, G20, BIS, EMEAP and the China-US Strategic Economic Dialogues.

Mr. Hung is the President, International for Standard Chartered. He sits on the Group's Management Team and is the Chairman of both Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited and Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited.

Mr. Hung joined Standard Chartered in 1992 and has held a number of senior management positions spanning corporate, commercial and retail banking. Prior to the current role, he was CEO, Asia, overseeing the Bank's presence in 21 Asian markets.

Mr. Hung is a member of the Hong Kong Chief Executive's Council of Advisers, Exchange Fund Advisory Committee and the General Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. He is the Co-Chair of B20's Trade and Investment Taskforce. He also serves as an economic advisor at the International Consultative Conference on the Future Economic Development of Guangdong Province, Mainland China. He was previously the chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Banks, a member of the Financial Services Development Council, a board member of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, the Hong Kong Airport Authority and the Hong Kong Hospital Authority, and a Council Member of the University of Hong Kong.

Hu Xiaolian, Vice Chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE); Former Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of China. Ms. Hu Xiaolian has held leadership positions in organizations such as the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, the People's Bank of China, and the Export-Import Bank of China. With extensive experience in modern financial management theory and practice, she possesses rich expertise in macroeconomic analysis and profound professional capabilities. During her tenure at the State Administration of Foreign Exchange and the People's Bank of China, she actively promoted reforms in foreign exchange management and transformation of monetary policy regulatory systems, and directly participated in refining the reform of the RMB exchange rate formation mechanism, deepening interest rate marketization reform, and advancing RBM internationalization, contributing to the establishment of China's national foreign exchange reserve management system and operational management model. During this period, she concurrently held positions at Central Huijin Investment Ltd. and China Investment Corporation (CIC), innovatively utilizing foreign exchange reserves to successfully drive reforms at large state-owned commercial banks and expand national foreign exchange investment channels. Since 2015, she has served at the Export-Import Bank of China, implementing reforms of policy banks, establishing modern financial enterprises, and reshaping the governance structure, operational management system, and support assurance.

Dr.Yu Hu (Max) is an investor, scientist, chairman/founding partner of a dozen consumer technology companies, and a foremost Artificial Intelligence (Al) expert specializing in Voice Intelligence. As an investor, founder, and entrepreneur, he has incubated and invested in over 40 innovative technology companies. Dr.Hu is used to be the Executive President and Co-Founder of iFLYTEK, a publicly listed AI company well known for its world-leading research in natural language understanding, machine reasoning, and adaptive learning with applications in major industries such as automotive, education, and robotics, he grew the market value of the company to¥150 billion RMB(~$21.8 billion USD).

Dr.Hu has led his research teams to multiple world championship victories, including five consecutive first-place wins in the USs National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Speaker Recognition Evaluation and fourteen consecutive first-prize wins in the Blizzard International Speech Synthesis Competition, the largest competition of its kind in the world. He has published over 70 academic papers, filed over 200 patents, and received over 25 honors and awards for his pioneering work in Voice Intelligence and Al.

Dr.Hu holds a doctorate degree in Signal and Information Processing from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), where he also serves as apart-time professor and doctoral supervisor. He is also a leading investor in Al, robotics, and cleantech, with investments in China's most prominent companies in computer vision, GPU/NPUs, toy and service robots, and portable mobile power supply.

Mr. Huang Qifan, a research fellow and an Advisor to China Finance 40 Forum (CF40), currently serves as Executive Deputy Chairman of the Academic Committee at China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy. He is also Former Mayor of Chongqing. His works include Restructuring and Breakthrough, Strategy and Path, Analysis and Reflection, Structural Reform, Digital Economy, and The Strategy, Policy, and Management of the Development of Pudong.

HUANG Yiping is Peking University Boya Distinguished Professor, Dean of the National School of Development and Director of the Institute of Digital Finance, Peking University. In March 2024, he was reappointed as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People's Bank of China. HUANG Zhuo is Deputy Dean, Professor of Economics and Fashu Endowed Scholar of the National School of Development, and Deputy Director of the Institute of Digital Finance.

Sarah Hunter is the Chief Economist and Assistant Governor (Economic) at the Reserve Bank of Australia, a position she has held since January 2024. In this role, she is responsible for the Bank's Economic Analysis and Economic Research departments and is the chief economic advisor to the Governor and the Board.

Before joining the Bank, Sarah was the Head of Macroeconomic Conditions at the Commonwealth Treasury, where she oversaw the analysis of current conditions and economic forecasts and advised the Government on a broad range of economic and policy issues. Prior to that, she helped establish the Americas, Asia Pacific and Australian offices at Oxford Economics, progressing to the role of Chief Economist in Sydney, and was a Partner at KPMG in the Economics and Tax Centre.

Sarah holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford, a Masters in Economics degree from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Cambridge.

Ms. Huo Yingli is Chief Executive Officer of CFETS. Before joining CFETS, she had worked in the People's Bank of China (PBC) for 30 years and had been appointed as the Director-General of the Macroprudential Policy Bureau, the Secretary General of the Monetary Policy Committee, and the Deputy Director-General of the Financial Market Department. She had also once served as Senior Advisor to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

During her time in the PBC, Ms. Huo had extensive working experience in various departments, such as the Monetary Policy Department, the Financial Market Department and the Macroprudential Policy Bureau. She has been deeply involved in the policy design and management of monetary and macroprudential policies, development of China's bond market, and the internationalization of the RMB.

Ms. Huo holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Fudan University and a Master's Degree in Economics from the Graduate School of the PBC.

Mr. Jin Liqun is the inaugural President and Chairman of the Board of Directors since Jan.16, 2016. On July 28, 2020, he was elected to serve a second term of five years, beginning on Jan. 16, 2021. Before being elected as the Bank's first president, Mr. Jin served as Secretary-General of the Multilateral Interim Secretariat tasked with establishing the Bank. Mr. Jin has rich experience across the private and public sectors, as well as with MDBs. He served as Chairman of China International Capital Corporation Limited, China's first joint-venture investment bank, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of China Investment Corporation, and as Chairman of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds. Mr. Jin previously served as Vice President, and then Ranking Vice President, of the Asian Development Bank, and as Alternate Executive Director for China at the World Bank and at the Global Environment Facility. He spent nearly two decades at the Chinese Ministry of Finance, reaching the rank of Vice Minister.

Mr. Jin was admitted to Beijing Foreign Studies University in 1978 and received a master's degree in British and American literature. He also studied in graduate economics programs at both George Washington University and Boston University.

Ms. JIN Luo, Ph.D. in Economics. She is currently the Vice Chairwoman of the National Council for Social Security Fund. Previously she held several positions in the People's Bank of China, including Deputy Director-General of the International Department, Deputy Director-General and Bureau Rank Official of the Financial Stability Bureau, Director-General of the Anti-Money Laundering Bureau, Director-General of the Human Resources Department. She also served as President of Tianjin TEDA International Holding (Group) Co., Ltd.

Dr. Jin Zhongxia is Director General of Treasury and Portfolio Management, the New Development Bank. He holds a PhD in International Finance from the University of Hawaii, and an MA in Macroeconomic Management and BA in International Economics from Peking University. After joining the People's Bank of China, he held a number of positions in several departments including the International Department, the Monetary Policy Department, the Financial Research Institute, and Representative Office in Americas (New York). He was the former Director-General of International Department at the People's Bank of China and Executive Director for China at the International Monetary Fund. He also served as Consultant Expert for World Bank. His work and research covered macroeconomic management, international finance, monetary policy and international economic governance.

Takashi KAKIUCHI is a Managing Executive Officer and Head of East Asia, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group. He is also the chairman of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (China) Limited.

Kang Jie has a Bachelor's degree. He previously served as Chief of Cadre Management Section at Human Resources Department of Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank (SHRCB), Deputy Secretary and Secretary of CCYL SHRCB Committee, Deputy General Manager of SHRCB Qingpu Sub-branch, Deputy General Manager of SHRCB Huangpu Sub-branch (in overall charge), and General Manager of SHRCB Huangpu Branch, Vice President of SHRCB, and Party Committee Member and Deputy Director of Shanghai SASAC. Currently, he is Vice President of SPD Bank.

Kazumasa Iwata, former Deputy Governor for the Bank of Japan, is currently the President of Japan Center for Economic Research (JCER). After graduating from the University of Tokyo in 1970, Mr. Iwata entered the Economic Planning Agency of the Japanese Government. He later served as Administrator at the Monetary and Fiscal Policy Division, Department of Economics and Statistics, OECD in Paris. Between 1985 and 2001, he held various positions at leading academic institutions including the University of Tokyo and Yale University. In 2001, he was appointed Director General in charge of economic assessment and policy analysis at the Cabinet Office. In 2003, he was named Deputy Governor of the Bank of Japan for five years. He became the Emeritus professor at the University of Tokyo in 2007. He then became President of the Economic and Social Research Institute, Cabinet Office, and later Member of the Council of Economic and Fiscal Policy. He took his current role with JCER in October 2010.

He is also currently serving as a Chairman of Postal Services Privatization Committee. The Committee was created to steer the privatization of the then state-run postal operator, currently Japan Post Holdings, which provided postal and financial services (deposit, money transfer and settlement and insurance) in an integrated manner. He was inaugurated as the chairman in September 2016. He was appointed as a temporary member of Central Environment Council in July 2018 and is engaged in the Subcommittee on Utilization of Carbon Pricing.

Donald Kohn holds the Robert V. Roosa Chair in International Economics and is a senior fellow in the Economic Studies program at the Brookings Institution. Kohn is a 40-year veteran of the Federal Reserve system, serving as member and then vice chair of the Board of Governors from 2002-2010.  He also served as an external member of the Financial Policy Committee at the Bank of England from 2011-2021.

Prior to joining Bloomberg, Mr. Li was head of Fixed Income at Bank of China (Hong Kong), responsible for sales, trading and research. Mr. Li joined the bank from Tandem Global Partners, a New York based Fixed Income asset manager, where he was a partner and portfolio manager covering the Asia Pacific region. Before Tandem, Mr. Li served as Vice President at Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong and was a core team member of the Equity Derivatives department. Mr. Li worked for HSBC and then JP Morgan in the early years of his career, where he traded bonds and fixed income derivatives.

Mr. Li serves as the Deputy Secretary, President, Vice Chairman, and President of Wealth Management Committee at Guotai Junan Securities Co., Ltd. Mr. Li Lihui is a senior banker and financial scholar. During the period, he also successively served as Chairman of Sun Life Everbright Life Insurance Company Limited, Vice Chairman of China Everbright Holdings Company Limited., Executive Director and Vice Chairman of China Everbright Limited, Executive Director and Vice Chairman of China Everbright International Limited, and Chairman of China Everbright Industrial (Group) Co., Ltd. Mr. Liu served as Assistant to President and Executive Vice President of China Everbright Bank, during the period he concurrently acted as President of Shanghai Branch of China Everbright Bank and General Manager of the Financial Market Centre of China Everbright Bank.

Mr. Liu obtained his Doctoral degree in Business Administration from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2003.

Dr. Liu is general manager of Asset and Liability Department at Postal Saving Bank of China, and previously deputy general manager of China Post Savings Bank Wealth Management Co., Ltd.

Prior to this, she was director of Asset Management Division at the Innovation Department of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC), responsible for regulatory policy research and risk monitoring on banks' wealth management business. In this role, Dr. Liu participated in the research and formulation of Guiding Opinions on Regulating the Asset Management Business of Financial Institutions, Measures for the Supervision and Administration of the Wealth Management Business of Commercial Banks, and Measures for the Administration of Wealth Management Subsidiary Companies of Commercial Banks.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Liu worked at the Policy Research Bureau and Innovation Department of China Banking Regulatory Commission on systemic risk analysis of banks, supervision of credit asset securitization, derivatives trading, regulation of innovative transfer of commercial banks' credit asset.

Dr. Liu holds a PhD in Finance from the Institute of Finance & Banking, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Mr. Liu is currently President of the Chinese Academy of Fiscal Sciences (CAFS) and a member of the 13th and 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He is also a recipient of special allowance of the State Council, and a member of the Chinese Economists 50 Forum.

Mr. Liu holds a PhD in Economics and has carried out innovative research in a number of fields including income distribution, fiscal risks, public finance, macroeconomy, and public governance. He is the author of numerous books including Theory of Public Risks, Income Distribution Cycles, The Fiscal Code of China's Development（1949-2019）and 70 Years of New China's Fiscal Development.

Liu Shijin is the ViceChairman of the Committee on Economic affairs of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), former Vice President of the Development Research Centre of the State Council (DRC), Chief Advisor of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED), and is concurrently a research fellow and doctoral supervisor. He has long been committed to research on economy theory and policy issues, mainly in the fields of macroeconomics, industrial development, and economic system reform. He has published more than 200 academic papers and other articles in important journals at home and abroad, and authored, coauthored and edited more than 20 academic works. He is the direct leader and principal author of a series of research results that have had a wide influence in recent years, including "China 2030: Building a Modern, Harmonious, and Creative HighIncome Society" and "Urban China: Toward Efficient, Inclusive, and Sustainable Urbanization" which are coauthored with The World Bank, "Traps and High Walls: The Real Challenges and Choices Facing the Chinese Economy" which proposes that China's economic growth rate will slow down and enter the growth stage transition, and "Formation of a New Growth Model in the Reform" which is an early work that introduced important views on the new normal of China's economy. He participated in the drafting of the Third and Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and the report of the 19th CPC National Congress. He is a member of the Expert Committee for China's 15th FiveYear Plan, a member of the Expert Committee for Climate Change, a member of the Chinese Economy 50 Forum, and was a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People's Bank of China. He has received several nationally influential academic awards, including the Sun Yefang Economic Science Award, the highest award in the field of economics research, and the Special Prize for China Development Research.

Patrick Liu, Senior Vice President of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group and President of the Public Cloud Business Unit, has over 20 years of experience in management positions in the field of information technology. Prior to joining Alibaba Cloud, he served as Vice President of Ant Financial Group, responsible for the commercial promotion and ecological construction of fintech, as well as the commercial expansion of Ant Blockchain. Before joining Ant Financial Group, Patrick Liu also served as the General Manager of Greater China for Pivotal Software in the U.S., where he pioneered the market for enterprise-level big data and enterprise-level cloud computing PaaS platforms in the Chinese, Hong Kong , and Taiwan markets, and was the earliest technological leader in China to promote cloud-native. Prior to that, he worked for Oracle China Software Systems Co., Ltd. and EMC Systems Greater China Branch for more than 10 years, where he held important positions and promoted the technical development and popularization of databases, middleware, and big data in the Chinese market. Patrick Liu has rich overall operation and management experience in enterprise markets such as finance and telecommunication as well as the Internet industry, and has helped many enterprise-level customers to push forward the process of digital transformation. He has written many influential articles in the industry, and has been committed to promoting high-quality growth of business for a long period of time.

Patrick Liu graduated from the Department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University.

Mr. Liu Xiaochun joined Shanghai Finance Institute as Vice President in January 2019. Mr. Liu received a bachelor’s degree from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

Mr. Liu spent more than 30 years at the Agricultural Bank of China (ABC), and served as Deputy General Manager of the International Business Department, Vice President of ABC Zhejiang Branch and President of ABC Hong Kong Branch. From July 2014 to April 2018, he was Vice Chairman and President of China Zheshang Bank (CZB).

Liu Yuanchun is President, Professor of Economics, and PhD Supervisor at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE). He also serves as Vice Chairman of China Center for International Economic Exchanges, Researcher of the Institute of Finance of Counsellors' Office of the State Council, Member of Chinese Economists 50 Forum (CE50) and China Finance 40 Forum (CF40). His research interests include open economy macroeconomics, monetary policy and inflation, and China's economic growth. He has published nearly 300 academic papers in leading Chinese journals such as Social Sciences in China, Economic Research Journal, Journal of Management World, People's Daily, Qiushi, and authored over 20 books. Professor Liu has attended a series of socio-economic expert forums and economist forums hosted by the Chairman and the Premier of China.

Liu Zhihui is the Deputy Party Secretary, Director and President of Industrial Securities Company Limited, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Industrial Securities (Hong Kong) Financial Holdings Limited.

Mr. Liu formerly served as a staff member, senior staff member and principal staff member in the General Office of Fujian Provincial Government. He also served as a staff member, deputy director and director of China Securities Regulatory Commission Fujian Regulatory Bureau's Institution Division, Listing Division and Inspection Division.

Mr. Liu holds a master's degree and is an International Business Engineer.

LOU Jiwei graduated from the Department of Quantitative and Technical Economics of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) with a master's degree in Economics. From 1988 to March 2013, he served as Deputy Director-General of the Office for Economic Restructuring of Shanghai Municipal Government, Director-General of the State Commission for Economic Restructuring, Vice Governor of Guizhou Province, Vice Minister and Deputy Party Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council (Ministerial Level), Head of the Preparatory Group for China Investment Corporation, and then Chairman, Party Secretary and CEO of China Investment Corporation. In March 2013, he started to serve as Minister and Party Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. From November 2016 to March 2019, he was appointed as Chairman of National Council for Social Security Fund. He was member of the 16th CPC Central Committee for Discipline Inspection, alternate member of the 17th CPC Central Committee and member of the 18th CPC Central Committee. He is Standing Committee member and Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Affairs, the 13th CPPCC National Committee.

Mary E. Lovely is the Anthony M. Solomon Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute. She served as the 2022 Carnegie Chair in US-China Relations with the Kluge Center at the Library of Congress. Lovely is professor emeritus of economics at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, where she was Melvin A. Eggers Economics Faculty Scholar from 2010 to April 2022. She was coeditor of the China Economic Review during 2011–15.

Her current research projects investigate the effect of China's foreign direct investment policies on trade flows and entry mode, strategic reform of US tariffs on China, and recent movements in global supply chains. Lovely earned her PhD in economics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a master's degree in city and regional planning from Harvard University.

As the Executive Vice President, Mr. Lowery oversees the departments responsible for macroeconomic analysis, international financial regulation, financial technology, and specific policy areas such as debt transparency and analysis, and sustainable finance. Over the previous eight years, Mr. Lowery helped build and was Managing Director of the Rock Creek Global Advisors consulting firm. Mr. Lowery also served in the U.S. Government for 16 years and held positions at the National Security Council and a number of positions at the U.S. Treasury Department and culminating as the Assistant Secretary for International Affairs from 2005 to 2009 where he managed a 200-person team responsible for economic and financial diplomacy, monetary and banking issues, currency strategy, and trade and investment practices.

Mr. Lowery received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia (Phi Beta Kappa) and his MSc at the London School of Economics.

Jean Lu is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice Chairperson of Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited, as well as the Managing Director, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking. In her role, she is responsible for shaping and executing the Bank's strategic vision in China, overseeing business development, and managing daily operations.

Jean has 30 years of experiences in the banking industry. Since joining Standard Chartered in 2014, Jean has held several leadership positions including Head of Corporate & Investment Banking (“CIB”) and Deputy CEO, Standard Chartered China, playing a pivotal role in turbocharging the growth of the Bank's CIB business in China. Under her leadership, China CIB business has consistently been the top network income originator for the Group, and continues to be a leading player in Belt & Road initiative and new economy transformation, cross border RMB services and sustainable finance. Before joining Standard Chartered, Jean held a number of senior management roles in major Chinese and international banks, bringing a wealth of practical and leadership experiences.

Jean is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion. She has served as Co-Chair of the Group CIB Diversity and Inclusion Council, where she leverages her professional expertise to mentor and advise university entrepreneurship programs and support the career development of female employees.
In recognition of her contributions to the development of Shanghai as an international financial centre, Jean was honored with the "2022 Shanghai Financial Leader" award.

 Gene Ma is the Chief Representative for APAC and the Head of China Research at IIF. Prior to joining IIF, Gene was the China Strategist at Tudor Investment. He also served as a managing director at ISI Group (now Evercore ISI), chief macro analyst at Citic Securities, and at China's Ministry of Finance. He has also taught at George Washington University and the University of Illinois. Gene graduated from Peking Univ. and Cornell Univ.

Dr. Masahiro Kawai holds a BA in economics from the University of Tokyo and both an MS in statistics and a PhD in economics from Stanford University. Dr. Kawai began his professional career as a Research Fellow at the Brookings Institution and then taught economics at The Johns Hopkins University as an associate professor and at the University of Tokyo as a full professor. Dr. Kawai also served as: Chief Economist for the World Bank's East Asia and the Pacific Region; Deputy Vice Minister of Finance for International Affairs and President of the Policy Research Institute of Japan's Ministry of Finance; Special Advisor to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) President; Dean and CEO of the ADB Institute; Representative Director, Economic Research Institute for Northeast Asia (ERINA); and a Councilor of the Bank of Japan. While occasionally teaching at the University of Tokyo as Professor Emeritus, he is currently serving as a Senior Fellow of the Policy Research Institute of Japan's Finance Ministry and a Distinguished Research Fellow of the Japan Forum on International Relations (JFIR).

He joined in 2013 as Senior Advisor to the Administrator and then Head of Research. He helped formulate global macro views and built a top-notch research platform for the world's largest sovereign wealth manager. Sopnendu MOHANTY, currently the Chief Fintech Officer at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, is responsible for creating development strategies, public infrastructure, and policies around technology-driven innovation. Mr. Mohanty has over two decades of public and private sector experience in technology, operations, digital finance, and investment strategies.

Mr. Mohanty extensively engages with global technology and financial services ecosystems and has championed notable collaborative public goods like API Exchange (APIX), Singapore Fintech Festival, Payment Rails, Data Exchange platforms, and experimental programs like UBIN. In addition, Mohanty advises many international global advisory bodies on Fintech, Innovation and Inclusion. Within five years of his leadership, Singapore has become a leading global Fintech hub producing unicorns and home to many vibrant fintech companies. He has co-authored several patented works in the application of digital technology in finance and won many industry recognitions.

Richard Nash is Vice President and Head of PayPal's Global Government Relations team, comprised of teams based in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. Richard has managed PayPal's Government Relations team since the company's spinoff from eBay Inc. in 2015.

In this role, Richard leads PayPal's work on key global policy and legislative issues, focusing on emerging public policy aimed at building a more inclusive and equitable future for the people, businesses and communities PayPal serves. His work includes collaborating with and informing global governments on the development of modern financial services policy and manages the team's engagement with governments for the strategic expansion of PayPal's entry and impact in markets around the world, such as China and Latin America.

He oversees a global team that manages PayPal's contributions to discussions on expanding the financial services system to underserved people, consumer protection and security, digital payment innovation, cross-border trade expansion, and other key issues. He spearheads government relations work with international groups such as the World Economic Forum, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, as well as many regional industry and inter-governmental organizations.

Richard also leads the Government Relations team's work on empowering and advocating for small businesses and developing programs aimed at giving them a voice on key policy issues. In the pandemic, that work expanded to COVID-19 relief including the company's $535 million commitment to Black and person of color-owned businesses, working with congress and the administration to make PayPal one of the first non-bank institutions to offer the Paycheck Protection Program to SMBs, and other programming aimed at bolstering small business resilience.

He was previously part of the eBay Inc. Government Relations team, which he joined in March 2008. Prior to joining eBay Inc., Richard ran the Brussels office of European public affairs consultancy Political Intelligence. Additionally, he was Secretary General of the European Internet Services Providers Association from 2005-2008. Richard began his career with a German law firm, based in Freiburg (Germany), having studied law in the UK and Austria.

Mr. Ning was appointed as Chairman of the Board and Secretary of the Leading Party Group at Sinochem Holdings Corporation Ltd. in April 2021.

Previously, Mr. Ning served as Vice Chairman and General Manager at China Resources Enterprise Limited, concurrently as Chairman at China Resources Enterprise, Limited, China Resources Snow Breweries Co., Ltd., China Resources Land Limited and China Resources Power Holdings Limited, China Resources Vanguard Limited, and sat on the Boards of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, SAB Miller Corporation and Hongkong International Terminals Limited.

Tom Orlik is Bloomberg's Chief Economist, based in Washington DC. Previously, Tom was the Chief Asia economist for Bloomberg and China economics correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, based in Beijing. Prior to eleven years in China, he was an advisor to the UK Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund and policy analyst at the British Treasury and European Commission.

He is the author of Understanding China's Economic Indicators and China: The Bubble that Never Pops.

Albert Francis PARK is Chief Economist of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Director General of its Economic Research and Development Impact Department. He is chief spokesperson on economic and development trends and leads the production of ADB's flagship knowledge products and support for regional cooperation fora.

Mr. Park has more than 2 decades of experience as a development economist and is a well-known expert on the economy of the People's Republic of China. He has worked on a broad range of development issues including poverty and inequality, intergenerational mobility, microfinance, migration and labor markets, the future of work, and foreign investment.

Mr. Park is Chair Professor of Economics, Social Science, and Public Policy at HKUST (on leave). He served as a founding director of HKUST's Institute for Emerging Market Studies and Center for Economic Policy, and previously held faculty positions at the University of Oxford and University of Michigan.

A national of the United States, he received his bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard University and his doctorate in applied economics from Stanford University.

Dr. Peng Wensheng is the Chief Economist and Head of Research at the China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC), and Dean of the CICC Global Institute. He was the Chief Economist and Head of Research at Everbright Securities from October 2016-May 2020, Global Chief Economist and Head of Research at CITIC Securities from 2015-2016, and Chief Economist for the CICC from 2010-2014. From 2008 to 2010, he was Head of China Research at Barclays Capital. Prior to that, he worked at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority for ten years, serving as Head of Economic Research Division and Head of Mainland China Affairs Division at different points of time. From 1993 to 1998, he worked as an Economist for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Peng received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Nankai University in 1986, and continued to study at the postgraduate school of the People's Bank of China. He received Master's degree in Banking and Finance, and PhD in Economics from University of Birmingham in England in 1988 and 1993, respectively. Dr. Peng is an adjunct professor at Nankai University, and a member of CF40. He currently serves as a member of the Currency Board Sub-committee of the HongKong Exchange Fund Advisory Committee. Dr. Peng has published numerous papers in international academic journals. His book 'Seek new economic balance in China' (in Chinese) was awarded the Sun Yefang financial innovation book prize in 2015, and 'The Ascending Financial Cycles' (in Chinese) was awarded CF40 annual book prize in 2018.

Adam POSEN has been president of the Peterson Institute for International Economics since January 2013, after joining in July 1997. Over his career, he has contributed to research and public policy regarding monetary and fiscal policies in the G-20, the challenges of European integration since the adoption of the euro, China-US economic relations, and developing new approaches to financial recovery and stability. In September 2009, Posen was appointed by the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer to serve a three-year term as an external voting member of the Bank of England's rate-setting Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).

He received his PhD and BA from Harvard University, and now serves as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and of the Trilateral Commission. Posen has been the recipient of major grants and research fellowships from the American Academy in Berlin, the Bank of England, the Brookings Institution, the European Commission, the Ford Foundation, the Sloan Foundation, and the US National Science Foundation.

Professor Qian graduated from Tsinghua University in Mathematics. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University after earning an M.Phil. in Management Science/Operations Research from Yale University and an M.A. in Statistics from Columbia University.

He was on the economics faculties at Stanford University, the University of Maryland, and the University of California, Berkeley. He was the Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University in 2006-2018.

Professor Qian was elected as Fellow of the Econometric Society in 2012 and as inaugural Distinguished Professor of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Tsinghua University in 2018. He was a recipient of the Sun Yefang Prize in Economic Sciences in 2009 and 2021 and the inaugural China Economics Prize in 2016. His main research areas include comparative economics, institutional economics, economics of transition, the Chinese economy, and the education in China.

He is the author of the book How Reform Worked in China: The Transition from Plan to Market (The MIT Press, 2017) and has published articles in international journals such as The American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, The Quarterly Journal of Economics, and The Review of Economic Studies.

Raghuram Rajan is the Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at Chicago Booth. He was the 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India between September 2013 and September 2016. Between 2003 and 2006, Dr. Rajan was the Chief Economist and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund.

Dr. Rajan's research interests are in banking, corporate finance, and economic development. The books he has written include The Third Pillar: How the State and Markets hold the Community Behind 2019, which was a finalist for the Financial Times Business Book of the Year prize and Fault Lines: How Hidden Fractures Still Threaten the World Economy, for which he was awarded the Financial Times prize for Business Book of the Year in 2010.

Dr. Rajan is a member of the Group of Thirty. He was the President of the American Finance Association in 2011 and is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In January 2003, the American Finance Association awarded Dr. Rajan the inaugural Fischer Black Prize for the best finance researcher under the age of 40. The other awards he has received include the Infosys prize for the Economic Sciences in 2012, the Deutsche Bank Prize for Financial Economics in 2013, Euromoney Central Banker Governor of the Year 2014, and Banker Magazine (FT Group) Central Bank Governor of the Year 2016.

Mr. Monale Ratsoma is appointed as Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of the New Development Bank in July 2024. In this role he is responsible for the treasury, portfolio management, finance, and accounting functions of the Bank.

From 2018-2024, Mr. Ratsoma served as Director-General of NDB's Africa Regional Centre (ARC), overseeing ARC's operations, including project origination, preparation and implementation efforts for the NDB's African regional portfolio.

Before assuming his role as DG ARC, Mr. Ratsoma served in various capacities within the South African National Treasury. These roles include Head of Economic Policy, Acting Head of International and Regional Economic Policy and Chief Director: Debt Issuance and Liability Management. In these roles he was responsible for shaping economic policies for the South African economy and matters related to international economic cooperation and regional economic policy. He managed South African government's issuance of debt instruments in both domestic and international capital markets.

Prior to his Public sector experience, Mr. Ratsoma worked in the private and corporate sector, as Chief economist and Acting CEO at Thebe Stockbroking. He was a Macro Strategist at Absa Capital. He also worked in the capital markets divisions at Standard Bank and Calyon Corporate and Investment Bank.

Robert E. RUBIN served as the 70th Secretary of the U.S. Treasury. He began his career in finance at Goldman, Sachs & Company and served as vice chairman and co-chief operating officer. Rubin joined the Clinton Administration in 1993 as the first director of the White House National Economic Council. He served as a member of the board of directors at Citigroup and as a senior advisor to the company. In 2010, he joined Centerview Partners as senior counselor. In June 2017, he concluded his 10-year term as Co-Chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations and now serves as Co-Chairman Emeritus; is Vice Chairman of the Boards of Trustees of the Mount Sinai Health System; and is Chairman of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation. From 2002 to 2014, he was a member of the Harvard Corporation, and from 2016 to 2022, he served as a member of its Finance Committee. He is one of the founders of The Hamilton Project, an economic policy project housed at the Brookings Institution.

Rubin is the author of The Yellow Pad: Making Better Decisions in an Uncertain World (2023) and In an Uncertain World: Tough Choices from Wall Street to Washington (2003), which was a New York Times bestseller as well as being named one of Business Week's ten best business books of the year.

He graduated from Harvard College summa cum laude and received an LL. B from Yale Law School. He has received honorary degrees from Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and other universities.

Jeffrey D. Sachs is University Professor and Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, where he directed the Earth Institute from 2002 until 2016. He is President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Co-Chair of the Council of Engineers for the Energy Transition, Commissioner of the UN Broadband Commission for Development, academician of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences at the Vatican, and Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah Honorary Distinguished Professor at Sunway University. He has been Special Advisor to three United Nations Secretaries-General, and currently serves as an SDG Advocate under Secretary General António Guterres.

He spent over twenty years as a professor at Harvard University, where he received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees. Sachs has received 42 honorary doctorates, and his recent awards include the 2022 Tang Prize in Sustainable Development, the Legion of Honor by decree of the President of the Republic of France, and the Order of the Cross from the President of Estonia. Jeffrey J. Schott is a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics working on international trade policy and economic sanctions. During his tenure at the Institute, Schott also has been a visiting lecturer at Princeton University (1994) and an adjunct professor at Georgetown University (1986–88). He was a senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (1982–83) and an official of the US Treasury Department (1974–82) in international trade and energy policy. He previously served as a member of the State Department's Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy and cochaired the Trade and Environment Policy Advisory Committee for the US Trade Representative. Schott is the author, coauthor, or editor of numerous books on trade, including Trans-Pacific Partnership: An Assessment (2016), NAFTA and Climate Change (2011), Economic Sanctions Reconsidered, 3rd edition (2009), NAFTA Revisited: Achievements and Challenges (2005), Free Trade Agreements: US Strategies and Priorities (2004), Free Trade between Korea and the United States? (2001), and The WTO After Seattle (2000).

Moritz Schularick is president of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy since June 2023 and Professor of Economics at Sciences Po (Paris). His research includes financial markets and asset prices, issues in monetary macroeconomics, and the causes of financial crises and economic inequality.

Prior to his appointment in Kiel, Moritz Schularick was Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Bonn, Director of the MacroFinance Lab there. He is also a Fellow of the DFG-Excellence Cluster ECONtribute and a full member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Academia Europea. Previously, he conducted research at New York University, the University of Cambridge, Freie Universität Berlin, and in the research department of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, among others.

He is a recipient of the 2022 Leibniz Prize, Germany's most prestigious research prize, awarded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). In 2018, he received the Gossen Prize of the Verein für Socialpolitik, the most prestigious award given to German economists. He is editor of the most important European journal for economic policy, "Economic Policy."

He regularly advises central banks, ministries of finance, investors, and international organizations.

Brad W. Setser is the Whitney Shepardson senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Prior to joining CFR, Setser served as a senior advisor to the United States Trade Representative and as the deputy assistant secretary for international economic analysis in the U.S. Treasury. He is the author of the book Sovereign Wealth and Sovereign Power and the coauthor, with Nouriel Roubini, of Bailouts and Bail-ins: Responding to Financial Crises in Emerging Economies. Setser regularly blogs at Follow the Money about global trade and capital flows, financial vulnerability analysis, and sovereign debt restructuring.

Mr. SHANG Fulin was appointed as Chairman of the 13th Subcommittee for Economic Affairs of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in March 2018. He currently also serves as a member of the 13th Standing Committee of the CPPCC. He was once an alternate member of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and a member of the 17th and 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Prior to the current position, Mr. SHANG held various positions in both government agencies and financial institutions, including, among others, Vice Chairman of the 12th Subcommittee for Economic Affairs of the CPPCC (February 2017-March 2018), Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission (October 2011-February 2017), Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission (December 2002-October 2011), President of Agricultural Bank of China (February 2000-December 2002), Assistant Governor and then Deputy Governor of the People's Bank of China (October 1994-February 2000).

Mr. SHANG received his doctorate degree in Finance from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and was awarded as "China Economic Person of the Year" in 2006.

Professor Yilei Shao, Founding Dean of Shanghai AI-Finance School (SAIFS) at ECNU, holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Princeton University. She was the Secretary General of the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI) China Office from 2021 to 2023. In her previous experience, she has worked at Goldman Sachs's headquarters in New York. As a cross-disciplinary pioneer, she focuses on the application of AI in finance, as well as other AI for social science issues, such as ethics and governance of AI technology.

Shen Shanzhou is the Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee and Governor of Huangpu District, Shanghai. He holds an MBA and a PhD in Economics.

Shen Yan is Deputy Director of the Institute for Digital Finance at Peking University. She is also a Professor of Economics at the National School of Development at Peking University. Professor Shen received her PhD in Economics from the University of Southern California in 2003, and joined the China Center for Economic Research at Peking University as a faculty member. She is also Deputy Director of the Centre for Human Capital and National Policy Research at Peking University, Ministry of Education, Vice President of the Chinese Society for Quantitative Economics, and member of China Finance Society. She publishes in top Chinese journals like Economic Research, Management World, China Economic Quarterly, Finance Research, and English top journals like Journal of Econometrics and Journal of Public Economics.

Her main research areas include digital economy, digital finance, and policy evaluation in econometrics.

Mr. Shi Yaobin currently serves as Member of the Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Financial and Economic Committee of the 14th National People's Congress. From 2018 to 2023, Mr. Shi was Vice Chairman of the Financial and Economic Committee of the 13th National People's Congress, as well as Chairman of the Budgetary Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee. From August 2013 to March 2018, he was Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance. Before that, Mr. Shi held various positions, including Mayor of Xiangtan city in Hunan Province, Director General of Hunan Provincial Department of Finance and Deputy Director General and Director General of Department of Tax Policy in the Ministry of Finance.

Masaaki Shirakawa was previously Governor of the Bank of Japan. He was appointed as Governor in April 2008, and left the Bank in March 2013. He was also Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements—an organization often described as the central bank of central banks—between January 2011 and March 2013. Currently, he is Distinguished Guest professor of Aoyama-Gakuin University (Tokyo) and a member of the Group of Thirty—a private, non-profit, international body composed of senior policymakers from central banks, supervisory agencies, the financial sector, and academia.

Masaaki Shirakawa joined the Bank of Japan (Tokyo) in 1972. At the Bank, he held various key positions, including the Bank's Chief Representative in the Americas and Executive Director in charge of monetary policy. Other professional experiences include professorship at the Kyoto University School of Government from July 2006 to March 2008.

Michael Spence is the Philip H. Knight Professor Emeritus of Management in the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, a Senior Fellow of the Hoover Institution at Stanford and a Distinguished Visiting Fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is an Adjunct Professor at Bocconi University in Milan, and an Honorary Fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford University.

In 2001, he received the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for his work in the field of information economics.

He is a Senior Advisor to Jasper Ridge Partners and a Senior Advisor to General Atlantic Partners. He chairs the Advisory Council of the Asia Global Institute, and was the Chairman of The Independent Commission on Growth and Development (2006-2010). He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Luohan Academy in Hangzhou. He served as Dean of the Stanford Business School from 1990 to 1999 and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University from 1984 to 1990.

He was awarded the John Kenneth Galbraith Prize for excellence in teaching and the John Bates Clark Medal for a "significant contribution to economic thought and knowledge".

Mr. Takehiko Nakao is currently Adviser, Sumitomo Corporation and Chairman, Center for International Economy and Strategy. He is also an executive board member (external) of the Daiichi Life Insurance, Ltd. Concurrently, he teaches as Visiting Professor at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) and Graduate School of Public Policy, the University of Tokyo. He is a member of the Trilateral Commission, Board of Governors of Asian Institute of Management (Manila), the Japan Corporate Governance Network, and several other international and Japanese non-profit organizations.

Before assuming the current job on August 1, 2024, he was Chairman of the Institute at Mizuho Research & Technologies, Ltd. From April 2013 to January 2020, Mr. Nakao served as President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Mr. Nakao was the Vice Minister of Finance for International Affairs between 2011 and 2013, and in charge of foreign exchange markets, G20 and G7 processes, ASEAN+3 financial cooperation, and bilateral financial relations with the US, Asian, and others.

Mr. Nakao has gained extensive experience in international finance, budget, tax policy, and financial market since he joined the Ministry of Finance in 1978. He was assigned as Minister at the Embassy of Japan in Washington D.C. between 2005 and 2007, and worked as advisor at IMF's Policy Development and Review Department between 1994 and 1997.

He has published books and numerous papers on financial and economic issues both in Japanese and English. His memoir "The Rise of Asia: Perspectives and Beyond" covering his ADB days as well as those of Vice Minister was published by ADB in July 2022 (available on ADB HP). He also took an initiative and was a lead editor for "Asia's Journey to Prosperity: Policy, Market, and Technology over 50 Years" , published by ADB in January 2020 (available on ADB HP).

Mr. Nakao holds a BA degree in Economics from the University of Tokyo (1978) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California-Berkeley (1982).

Jean-Claude Trichet was elected chairman of the French "Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques" (2023). He is honorary chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bruegel Institute (Brussels), honorary chairman of the Group of Thirty (Washington) and former European chairman of the Trilateral Commission.

Born in Lyon in 1942, Jean-Claude Trichet is an honorary inspecteur général des Finances and ingénieur civil des Mines. He is a graduate of the Institut d’études politiques de Paris, of the Université de Paris (in economics) and of the École Nationale d’Administration. Jean-Claude Trichet has been awarded honorary doctorates by several universities.

Mr. TU Guangshao is CF40 Executive Council Member and Chairman of Executive Council of SFI. He is a member of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Mr. Tu holds a master's degree in economics from Peking University and was accorded Senior Economist by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. Lord Turner chairs the Energy Transitions Commission, a global coalition of companies, NGOs, and experts working to achieve a net zero economy by 2040.

Mark Wang is the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited ("HSBC China"). He is also a General Manager of the HSBC Group.

Mr Wang joined HSBC in 2005, and has served in a number of leadership positions, driving in particular China-related business in trading and capital markets mainly. In June 2016, he was appointed Head of Global Banking and Markets China at the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited.

Tim Wannenmacher is Managing Director, Co-Head of Global Markets Asia Pacific of UBS. Based in Hong Kong, he is responsible for driving the strategic development and delivery of Sales and Trading businesses in Global Markets across Asia Pacific.

After starting his career in Frankfurt and London at Deutsche Bank, Tim has been based in Asia Pacific since 2000. He was previously Head of Prime Services Asia-Pacific at Lehman Brothers, where he was based in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Tim later became Global Head of Prime Services and Delta One at Nomura, before joining UBS in 2011. Prior to assuming his current role, he was Head of Financing and Co-Head of Distribution Asia Pacific.

Rick Waters is the managing director of Eurasia Group's China practice. Drawing on his decades of experience in the US foreign service, Rick leads the firm's China expertise and client offerings. His research interests include China's global and regional diplomacy, US-China relations, and China's domestic political economy.

Rick joined Eurasia Group after a 27-year career as the US State Department's top China policy official, overseeing the creation of the Office of China Coordination, informally known as the China House, and concurrently serving as deputy assistant secretary of state for China.

Prof. WEI Shangjin is a member of PSF Academic Committee and Professor of Finance and Economics, Columbia University. Eddy Wong joined Amundi as Chief Executive Officer, Asia in November 2023. Mr. Wong leads Amundi's business in Asia (ex-Japan), as well as Amundi's joint ventures in mainland China.

Mr. Wong has over 20 years' experience in financial industry. Prior to joining Amundi, he was with JPMorgan Asset Management, which he has worked for 18 years. Mr. Wong's last position held was CEO of JPMorgan Asset Management China, where he drove the unification of the China business and oversaw its business strategy across different functions. Before that, Mr. Wong was the Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Asset Management Taiwan and Head of Funds Business in Hong Kong and China. He also held senior positions in Eastspring Investments and HSBC Asset Management.

Mr. XIAO Gang is CF40 Non-Resident Senior Fellow. He joined the People's Bank of China in 1981. From 1994 to 1996, he served as Director of Policy Research Office of PBC, General Manager of China Foreign Exchange Trading Center, and Director of the Planning and Capital Department of PBC. From 1996 to 1998, he was Assistant Governor of PBC; after that until 2003, he served as Deputy Governor and a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of PBC, and oversaw trust business. From 2003 to 2004, he was Chairman and President of Bank of China and acted as Party Secretary of China Orient Asset Management Co., Ltd. XU Qiyuan joined IWEP (Institute of World Economics and Politics), CASS (Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) since 2008, and becomes a senior fellow since 2017. Now, he is the Deputy Director, Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. In 2012, he also took up the role of advisor to the international collaboration department in Ministry of Finance of PRC. Xu also sits in the work team of CEEM (China's External Economic Environment) in IWEP. This work team issues a quarterly report on global macroeconomics, and he is responsible for the research on China's economy and RMB issues.

He has published 80 academic papers, hundreds of columns published in Financial Times, Project Syndicate in English and leading medias in Chinese. Ten books have been published on China's economy and RMB's topic. Xu Zhi was born in October 1978. He is a member of the Communist Party of China and is a member of the Standing Committee of the Huangpu CPC District Committee. He is deputy head of Huangpu district and is a member of the leading Party members group of the Huangpu district government.

Xun Yugen is Chief Economist of Haitong Securities. He also serves as a member of the Council of China Chief Economist Forum. He was awarded Shanghai Leading Talent, and Best Analyst by New Fortune for six consecutive years. He is the author of the book Xun Yugen on Strategy: Less is More.

Mr. Xun holds a Ph.D. in Economics and is a Certified International Investment Analyst.

Dr. Yang He currently serves as Deputy General Manager (in charge) of Modern Finance Research Institute and Office of the Leading Group for Comprehensive Deepening Reform, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). Yang Weimin previously served as the Director-General of the Department of Development Planning at the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Deputy Director of the Office of the Central Leading Group for Financial and Economic Affairs, member of the Standing Committee of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Deputy Director of the Committee for Economic Affairs of the National Committee of CPPCC. He played a major role in the drafting of China's six most recent Five-Year Plans.

Yeo Han-koo, former trade minister of the Republic of Korea, has been senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics since June 2023. His research focuses on international trade policy, industrial policy, supply chain resilience, and economic security and international trade negotiations including the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Yeo completed almost three decades of public service as trade minister of the Republic of Korea in 2022, in the final year of the Moon Jae-in presidency.

A graduate of Seoul National University, Yeo has served as visiting professor at the Seoul National University Business School, teaching international trade, negotiation, and economic security issues. Yeo holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School.

Dr. YI Gang is the president of the board of China Society for Finance and Banking. Dr. YI joined the People's Bank of China in 1997 and has held a number of positions, including Secretary-General of the Monetary Policy Committee and Director-General of the Monetary Policy Department. In December 2007, he became a deputy governor and was appointed Administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange in July 2009, a position he held until December 2015. He was appointed Governor of the People's Bank of China in March 2018. He was elected the president of the board of China Society for Finance and Banking in June 2022.

Dr. YI received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois in 1986 and was a faculty member in the Department of Economics, Indiana University from 1986 to 1994. In 1994, he co-founded the China Center for Economic Research (CCER) at Peking University and has been a professor at the CCER.

His research interests include money, banking and the Chinese economy.

Yin Yanlin is Deputy Director of Economic Affairs Committee of the 14th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and former Deputy Director of the Office of the Central Financial and Economic Commission. He holds a PhD in Economics and has worked for a long time at the National Development and Reform Commission and the Office of the Central Financial and Economic Leading Group.

Mr. Yu Yongding is a CF40 Advisor, Chairman of the Academic Committee of Pu Shan Foundation, Academician of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and Senior Fellow of the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) at CASS. He received his D.Phil. in economics from the University of Oxford. He is also a Member of the Advisory Committee of National Planning at the National Development and Reform Committee (2004- ), and a Member of the Advisory Committee of Foreign Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010- ). He was Director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics (1998-2009), a Member of the Monetary Policy Committee of People’s Bank of China (2004-2006), and President of China Society of World Economics. He has served as Chairman of the Academic Committee of Pu Shan Foundation since 2016.

Prof Yu has published extensively on macroeconomics, international finance and world economy, and authored more than 10 books. He has been Editor-in-Chief of World Economy since 1998.

Georg Zachmann is a senior fellow at Bruegel - an independent economic think tank based in Brussels. At Bruegel he has worked since 2009 on energy and climate policy. His work currently focuses on electricity and carbon markets, energy security and green industrial policy. Georg also acts as the Scientific Lead of the GreenDealUkraїna project to establish an energy and climate think tank in Kyiv. Prior to Bruegel Georg worked at the German Ministry of Finance, the German Institute for Economic Research in Berlin and the energy think tank LARSEN in Paris and as a consultant.

Georg holds a doctoral degree in economics.

Durwood Zaelke is founder and President of the Institute for Governance & Sustainable Development in Washington, DC and Paris, focusing on fast mitigation strategies that avoid maximum warming over the next decade to slow climate feedbacks and avoid tipping points. Prior to IGSD, Zaelke co-founded and served as President of the Center for International Environmental Law in Washington, DC and Geneva (1989-2003), and co-founded the Program on Governance for Sustainable Development at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management, UC Santa Barbara. Zaelke is the author of International Environmental Law & Policy (with Hunter & Salzman) (6th ed. 2021).

Zhang Bin is a Non-resident Senior Fellow of CF40, and Deputy Director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). His research is in the field of macroeconomy, with a special focus on China's economic restructuring, global economy, the RMB exchange rate and monetary policy. A prolific researcher, Dr. Zhang has published more than 50 papers in leading academic journals. In addition, he has led over more than 30 research projects funded by multiple institutions including the National Social Science Fund of China, the People's Bank of China, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development as well as Asian Development Bank.

Zhang Peng is the CEO of Zhipu AI. Mr. Zhang has participated in a variety of projects including the GLM series, AMiner, and XLORE as a principal researcher and published more than 10 articles at top conferences such as ICML and ISWC. Mr. Zhang has been dedicated to practical implementation of an artificial intelligence framework driven by both knowledge and data and has extensive experience in application projects of large-scale pre-trained models, semantic big data analysis, intelligent question-answering, and decision-making assistance.

He graduated from the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University with research focuses on knowledge graphs and large-scale pre-trained models.

Zhang Weizhong has a Master's degree. He previously served as General Manager of Development Zone Branch of Dalian Branch of China Construction Bank (CCB), Chief Auditor & Director of CCB Inner Mongolia General Audit Office, Discipline Inspection Committee Secretary, Deputy General Manager, and Party Committee Member of CCB Hubei Branch, General Manager of CCB Inclusive Finance Division (Small Business Department), and Director of Corporate Banking at CCB. He is currently Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of SPD Bank.

Dr. ZHANG Xiaohui is Former Assistant Governor, People's Bank of China, Senior Research Fellow, Supervisor for Ph.D. Candidates, Vice President of China Society for Finance and Banking, and former Dean of Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance. She has spent most of her career working for the central bank, as Assistant Governor of the PBC, a member of the PBC Monetary Policy Committee, Director General of the Monetary Policy Department and the Financial Market Department of the PBC, Senior Advisor to China's IMF Executive Director, Chief Representative of the PBC's Office in America and etc. Most of her life has been devoted to the research of macroeconomics, monetary policy, financial reform, RMB Internationalization, interest rate, exchange rate and etc.

Professor ZHANG Yuyan is CASS Member, Chair of National Institute for Global Strategy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS)，President of China Society of World Economy, Professor of University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences，Member of the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Member of the International Economics and Finance Advisory Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, General coordinator of the International Finance and Economic task force of the Ministry of Finance of China, Expert of Advisory Committee for Economic & Trade Policy of the Ministry of Commerce of China . He authored Economic Development and the Choice of Institutions (1992), International Economic Politics (2008), The Sources of American Conduct (2015) and The Path of China's Peaceful Development (2017), etc.

Dr. Zhao Hai is a Senior Research Fellow of the Institute of World Economic and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Siences (IWEP-CASS) and Director of International Political Studies at the National Institute for Global Strategy Chinese of the Academy of Social Siences(NIGS-CASS). His research interests range from China-US strategic relations to Asia-Pacific political economy and the Belt and Road Initiative. Previously, he worked as a research fellow at the National Strategy Institute at Tsinghua University.

Dr. Zhao holds a PhD of International History from the University of Chicago. He is an opinion writer for the China Daily, and a frequent commentator for the China Global Television Network and China Radio International.

Dr. Zheng Bingwen, Member of 13th CPPCC, the Director General of the Center for International Social Security Studies (CISS) at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), is professor and Ph.D., member of consultation of MoHRSS (Ministry of Human Resources & Social Security), Member of Major Policy Decision Commission of the CIRC (China Insurance Regulation commission), Visiting Professor at Peking University, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, and Chinese Academy of Governance, etc.

Dr. Zheng has long been interested in comparison of the welfare states and social security (pension and medical system) with publication of some books, hundreds of articles and authored chapters in Chinese.

Mr. Zhu is Former President and CEO, CICC. He worked at China International Capital Corporation (CICC) from 1998 to 2014, and served as its CEO from 2002 to 2014. Under his leadership, CICC registered remarkable achievements in business development and was honored with awards by globally-renowned publications such as Euromoney and Asiamoney.

While at CICC, Mr. Zhu led dozens of large IPO and M&A deals. He also promoted a research-oriented service model and developed a full-service business platform which involves research, investment banking, sales and trading, and asset management. In addition, he vigorously implemented the company's international development strategy, expanded overseas outreach and set up offices in New York, London and Singapore. Domestically, CICC added 16 branches in Chinese mainland.

Mr. Zhu received numerous awards in recognition of his achievements which included the Award for Asia's Top 25 Most Powerful Business Leaders (by the Fortune) and the Asian Banker Achievement Award for Investment Banking (by The Asian Banker).

Mr. Zhu holds a Master's degree in Accounting from DePaul University of Chicago, an MBA degree from the International Bankers' School of Credit Suisse First Boston, and a Ph.D. degree in Meteorology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Prof. ZOU Ji, as CEO & President of Energy Foundation China, overall manages the organization.

He previously served as a deputy director general of China's National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation, focusing on China's low-carbon development strategy and policy, and also led international climate negotiations and collaboration.

Prof. Zou brings NGO experience to the position, as well. He served as the first China Country Director of the World Resources Institute from 2009 to 2012, during which he led the institute in exploring projects in climate change, clean energy, and sustainable and livable cities.

Prof. Zou holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering and a master's in Technical Economics, both from Tsinghua University, and a Ph.D. in Resources and Environmental Economics from Renmin University.
